2011

The beginning

Primo de Lanzarote was the first vermouth ever produced in the Canary Islands. Born of passion, the idea goes back to 2011. It was created by Davide Musci, an Italian from Piedmont who made Lanzarote his home.

2017

The launch

For years Davide has worked with digestive liqueurs, fruit and herb mistelles and traditional Canarian recipes. Inspired by the traditions of his home town, Turin, he set out to make a vermouth from Lanzarote wine — the island he loves and chose as his home.

The project officially launched in 2017, giving the Canary Islands their first vermouth made with Malvasía Volcánica and, wherever possible, botanicals from the island.

A key partner in getting the project off the ground was Francisco Perdomo of Bodegas Reymar Los Perdomos.

Today

Driven by growing demand, the project evolved and, thanks to the renowned Bodega Los Bermejos, Primo de Lanzarote SL was born.

Today Primo de Lanzarote is still made by hand, uniting the vermouth tradition with Lanzarote’s unique volcanic terroir.
